pic request: 4" susp. lift with 31s

i know there are a whole bunch of threads of pictures but i figured it would be easier just to have them under one thread lol. I also want to hear from you people who run this set up....how does it perform on road and off road? is it better than you anticipated? do you like the way it rides? what made you decide on this set up? etc. etc. I am most likely going with this set up but i always like to hear from other people. also i know i bunch of people are going to try to sell me on just getting 33s but right now they dont suit my needs and i have my reasons. Thanks!

I actually bought my jeep with this set up! and love it its just high enough to make it look good (not stock) and the tires fill it up pretty good and gives you lots of flexing room and they dont rub ANY! now i want to eventually go bigger and alot bigger tires like 36" but for now love the 31" kinda would like 33" but cost way too much and since im planning on going bigger im just gonna set up for bigger and jump straigt to in instead of stair stepping save money in the long run. ive only really been off road once and didnt beat it to death is my DD so look it fairly easy but wanted to see what it could do and had no prob up a hill climb that a stock Tj had to roll back down!

... I think TJs look a bit different from YJs with the same suspension lift.

4" suspension and 1" shackle lift. 33/12.50's It's an RC lift with the nitro shocks, like most say it rides a bit rough at first but now with 5000 miles on the lift and tires and half a dozen trail rides it has setteled in nicely.

I will have to dig some pics up of my Jeep, but I also have the 4" and 31s. I love the look, rides great and off road I get a little more flex. I have actually stuffed my tires into the fenders with this set up so with 33s, I would have rubbed a lot sooner.

Great pics..

IMO 31's are a little too small for a 4" lift...but thats just me. I guess if the tires have a really aggressive tread then i could feel differently.

Matcheen's 33" are perfect

EDIT: referenced wrong member :/

thanks for the pictures turdhurdler. it does have quite a bit of flex which is awesome. if you could post a picture of your yj level on flat ground that be cool thanks. is the wheel well gap alittle too much in your opinion? or does it look just right...also do you have the 31s on 15x7s or 15x8s?

4" lift w 31s. Vandals and flexs great offload. On yjs the fenders are a lil narrow for 33s. 31s fit perfect.

They're Dynapro M/T's, 33/12.50.15's sitting on 15/8 Eagle alloy 100's. They're great on the trail, Sh%t in the snow, and ok on the road, I've only hade them about 5000 miles though so I can't tell you about wear.

These pics are taken the day after I installed the lift. Initially, I thought the gap was a bit much, but after a while I got used to it. The springs have also settled about an inch. The wheels are 15X8 American Racing Outlaw II rims that I rattle canned black.

This is just my opinion, but I think 31's on a 4" lift look out of proportion. Minimum should be 33's to fill the wheel well.
You don't NEED 4" of lift for 31's. You can go much lower, keep a LCG and not look like your rig is wearing high water pants.

yes i do realize this. im planning on moving to 33s later on down the road thats why im just going with the 4" lift now...in order to only swap the suspension once and save some money also.

No vibes, but your experience may differ. Every Jeep is unique.

Yes it is a spiderweb shade top and the lift is a black diamond 3.5".

I have a 1" body lift to put on yet and then I'll get some 33's, but it is garaged for the winter. Winters in Maine are brutal on any vehicle.

Here's my 94 with a 4" spring lift & 1.25" shackles sitting on well worn 31" BFG AT.

She's ready for 33"s just waiting to wear-out the shoes she's got on.

Let me know if you like the wheels, I'm going to put a different set on with the 33's, & will be selling the set of 4.
