Picture request.help please

I need help,im wanting to yank the fenders and side step off my white 89 laredo wrangler (the side steps aren't going back on, the fenders are just gonna get painted black) but I want to know how it will look in advance, so does anyone have a picture of a white laredo with black fenders? preferably with the orginal laredo stickers on it. thanks in advance.

I had to leave some of the fenders on, but I lost the side steps too.

those are more what i was looking for, thanks for posting Matcheen, I was concerned with taking the side steps off and the paint being crap, and not being able to get them back on.

Also just out of curiosity did you make the black diamond plate, I mean just take ss diamond plate and paint over it,or just buy it, if so how did you attach it back? it looks really clean.

Looks like he meant the fender extensions, not the whole fender painted black.

Painted the steel checker plate myself with a can of Tremclad. Shaped it with an angle grinder to fit. I marked as many of the factory holes as I could and drilled the plate. Had to drill a couple more after I fit it up, just used 1/4-20 bolts and nuts to hold it on. Note, do all drilling and filing before you paint!

It looks clean in that pic because it was taken the day I did it. It's rusted a bit now, a year later, so I'd go with an aluminium or a stainless plate not just steel like I did.

If you can find a metal shop that has some scrap around maybe they can put a bend on it for you too and you can have rocker guards. Just get them to bend two 5" X 60" pieces and then shape them yourself with a grinder. Make sure you get 1/4" thick plate.

The steel cost me $20 but it's flat not bent for a rocker guard. Like I said, find a local metal fab shop and see if they have some scrap lying around. Most likely will sell you stuff cheap and charge a nominal fee for putting a bend on it.
