Nope, it's custom. The stinger, tube fenders and door bars are from a single piece of tube from the front all the way through the firewall.

I don't have a very accurate start to finish time because I worked on it off and on during the weekends. Maybe 2 or 3 days total. Yes I did 100% of the work and I used aluminum because it is easier to work with and I have way easier access to it. I spent about 650-700 on it but 80% of that was just gauges. There is a write-up link in my sig but it is in another forum. Maybe I'll post it up here too.

If you build your jeep so big and bad that it's really easy to get threw everything out there, then your going to get bored.

Ohh DUDE!!! I'm so freaking jealous. That looks SOOO Sweet. I've been wanting to put in a 4BT my mine for several months and I just found out I have to move to England for 4 years. So my swap is going to have to get postponed for a long time, unless I can find one over there. Man I've got so many questions, I'll try to restrain myself a bit. What tranny did you go with? How did you do the motor mounts? Is that the stock radiator? That looks like Dynamat on the fenders, what's the reasoning behind using that? What sized exhaust did you go with? How much did you spend total on the swap?

I'll stop there but I'm holding back a lot more which I'll save for later.

BTW...That engine sittin in there looks dead sexy!!!

1.The tranny is the original ax-15 I will change it to a nv4500 if I ever break it.
2. I am a big truck mechanic and we had some old peterbilt frame rails laying around so I cut them up and made my mounts I will post pictures of them later.
3. Yes I used the stock radiator for 2 reasons one is cost, the other is these engine have a hard time getting up to temp. So many people think that just b/c its a diesel it need a huge 4 core radiator. but keep in mind this is only a 3.9l engine. I am installing a 2 stage wvo kit so I need it to run as high temp as possible.
4. That is dynomat and the reason is these engines can be noisy so I installed the dynomat to deaden the sound a bit. It is not that the sound bothers me I just wanted the conversion to appeal to a verity of folks. There are always a select few that will say thats not worth it is to noisy and crap like that.lol
5. I am going with 3" exhaust I have not done it yet b/c right now it is at a buddy of mines house he is lifting it and building me a custom back bumper. when I get it from him it will go straight to the muffler shop and have 3" pipe with some kind of round muffler put on it.
6. This is the good part I bought the Frito lay truck for $1500 I then sold the scrap aluminum for $1000 I then installed all new gaskets and seals including head gasket $215
clutch plate was $100 adapter $250 odds and end pieces about $300
so the completed project was $1365. Keep in mind I found my Frito lay truck cheap b/c the head gasket was leaking oil.

1. I am using an SM465 tranny now and probably will use it plus an advance adapters ranger torque splitter with the 4bt.
2. I work mostly with diesel too. USAF fire truck mechanic.
3. I am using a three row for my 350 now with an electric fan which kicks on at 180* so I it should do alright.
4. I was just curious. I thought about using it on the firewall and under the body but it's not going to do much good until I get a hardtop.
5. See I was thinking 3" but I was kind of wanting to run it up the passenger side of the windshield like a snorkel. If I did that 3" would be kinda big. I also wanted to do the air intake similar to the hummvee's but I don't know yet.
6. Dang...If only I could come across a deal like that.

You'll have to let me know what kind of mileage you get with that.

Well anyways I have to get some sleep. I just finished a 6pm to 7am shift.

Later

Chris
