Just to keep the thread going, here is my Jeep at the Kawarthas Jeep Jamboree in Canda back in 2002. This was the last year for the YJ, it got too expensive to keep on the road...
Here's my '87. It's a stock 2.5L w/31" MTR's and 175,000 miles. I cut off the anti-sway and track bars to help keep all four wheels on the ground. I'm hoping to lift if this winter, coz my suspension is so worn, that when I air down, I actually have negative lift. I want to lock it as well since open diffs aren't wonderful in off camber situations.
Love humor, world needs more of it! as for the paint, I think if i do a lite sand and shoot some clear coat it might be okay.. nice winter project I guess.
I have a clear coat problem too. Mine is my fiberglass hood. The clearcoat has come off badly. I don't think the paint is salvagable. I trying to decide if I want to paint just the hood and windshield frame, or go for the whole Jeep. My hood and windshield frame had to be replaced when the ole Jeep rolled over like an old dog. The windshield frame, th epaint is starting to flake. Wasn't prepped good enough.
Yea! Or maybee even a little More air in the tires! I wasn't stuck bad, just on the t-case skid, I was able to back off it and take a slightly different line.
I'm always thinking (dreaming) about lift....but for now...shackles and 31's are getting me where I want to go.
....but that's nothin..... How about that YJ doin wheelies above!
