Yj with 285/7/16 x 7 Duratracs

Hey Guys and Gals,

I've been skulking around the forums for months researching what I wanted to do for tires. Here's what I settled on for my winters. Hopefully this will help somebody else who is trying to make up their minds.

Cherokee Timberline 16x7 Wheels painted Semi Gloss Black
Goodyear Wrangler Duratrac 285/75/16, studded

They tuck nicely under the stock flares with just a bit of sidewall exposed.

After trying 33x10.5x15 and 32x11.5x15 this is a great compromise and ends up being the best of both worlds as a 33x11.5.

They are an E rated tire, but I really don't notice the difference in ride quality. My jeep is 4000lbs and I inflate them to 30psi on the road and down to 12psi in the snow.

One big plus is the jeep corners way better now.

They look great! What do you have for a lift?

Thanks.

Spring Over Axle with some custom Alcan Springs.

I think it ends up being about a 6" lift because the springs have a little bit of arc in them.

That's a good combination. Your YJ has a great stance. I'm from lake and mountain region of New Hampshire, so my back yard looks like yours with all of the snow.

Thanks again,

I get piles of compliments on it. And now having that tire size makes it look even better.

It rides really well with the Alcan springs. After blowing thru OEM springs I decided to bite the bullet and order some Alcan springs. Best decision ever in terms of an SOA spring.

I'm in South Okanagan, of British Columbia. No snow in town, but 20 minutes into the hills and there is lots of it.
