Pics of the '71 over the course of a few years...

I sold this '71 CJ in 2007 (after 16 years of ownership) to a guy who has become a good friend. Here is is on one of our runs, upstate PA, October 2010... continuing the abuse.

hi there i love jeeps as most of you do...
these are the jeeps that are up and running now in the family, ill give you folks some info on them and pix for fun (not on the wrangler cos this is a CJ thread)

CJ8 is my dads but my daily-driver(he uses a land rover), the wrangler is mine and the white CJ5 is my dads,

the CJ8 is siting on 36" mudders and has is mostly stock, d30 in front, amc20 in back and 258 in the hood, i love this car so much !
(the red CJ5 on the trailer is a organ donor for a 2012 rally jeep)

this CJ5 one is not in the family any more but I'm doing my best to get it back.

this pix is taken in 1987, it was my dads til 88 when my mom made him sell the jeep ...

he competed in one formula off-road competition in 1987 (if you don't know it already its an Icelandic 4x4 sport (YouTube it ))

the fuel filler cap wasn't thigh enough so fuel+hot exhaust = fire

now this CJ5 is a crazy thing ... so amazing and so depressing at the same time .. it has a 350 SBC from a 71' camaro, hedman hedders and a edelbrock 1406 carb and on the back of that engine is a 4 speed saginaw with a husts shifter, its on the original axels and 33" tires.

we built this car for rallying this summer(2011) and ended in 2nd place in the overall championship in the SUV class

hopefully you liked what you saw and read.

my spellin, grammar and vocabulary isn't the best (that's what you get for having English as 3rd language)

2 3Bs...You're killing me. Been wanting one to restore for a couple of years now, but haven't found one in the shape I want...in other words, they have a frame left...haha. Nice score you have there!

Thanks! It still hasn't sunk in that I have a pair of CJ3B's!

We have the red one running already. Which was more for grins and giggles than anything, they are both going to be tore down and rebuilt from the ground up. And no, I'm not keeping them both. My dad is going to get a heck of a deal on one of them.

I bought these two the week after I bought my first two.
The blue 1961 CJ3B is undergoing a restoration (Almost to rolling chassis), the CJ5 rolling chassis behind it is for parts. I'm using the body from the maroon 3B (about all that was good on it) on my 1961 and we beat around on the red 1953 CJ3B.

84 cj7

Its an 84 CJ-7 with a 87 YJ tub. No rust.
-79 258 with junkyard tbi set up with 5.0L injectors, HEI, accel coil, and laptop connector for the tbi system
-t-5/d300
-D30 front 3.31 gears and an aussie locker super superwinch hubs (original shafts), tie-rod flip
-amc 20 rear with 3.31 gears superior shafts and a factory trac loc
-33x12.50 r15 super swamper ssr's with a lot of tread left, id say 80%. Spare is down to about 25 %, but matches in brand and size. All are mounted on black wagon wheels.
-3 core radiator with taurus fan switched and temp controlled.
-Full cage with a to z family cage in the back with shoulder belts
-led tail lights, hella headlights and fogs (headlights are relayed)
-new carpet
-Tuffy center console with Alpine stereo with ipod connector
-midland weather CB, firestick cb antenna
-Bestop Sunrider Supertop and Superdoors, black denim in color. Windows are in great shape, all zippers work.
-OBA with 5 gallon tank
-Gas tank replaced about 6 years ago.
-New 3/16th inch gastank skid place not installed yet.
-Stock front bumper shortened 4" on each side, rear bumper is a currie TJ rock bumper that has been modded to fit, a to z rocker guards.
-Frame is solid. Rear lower 8" of frame was replaced/plated on both sides about 5 years ago and there are no issues.
- New brakes all around within the past few years., ss goodridge hoses (I can throw in an extra amc 20 brake shoe kit)
-JKS front sway bar disconnects
-BDS 2.5" suspension lift, 1/2" longer shackles
-1" daystar BL
-Interstate deep cycle battery
-custom rear tire carrier
Got this CJ like this, the guy before me did a great job. Ironically we were in the same Jeep group over ten years ago. Love this Jeep.

1974 CJ5 I restored for my dad.
Short list-
258
HEI
Howell EFI
Trac-loc
t18
d20
4.27 gears
My dad wanted a stock CJ, except the carburetor issues when he goes up in altitude in the Idaho mountains. Runs good on the howell TBI.
