new (to me) cj 7

4.2 auto dana 30 front amc 20 rear both locked lift shackles

someone wanted to save the 78 body and mounted it on a later frame (it has 300 transfer case) the axles are deffinately locked but the yukon sticker could just be for decoration. How can i check to see if the axles are aftermarket? thank you

i would think that if it was aftermarket it would ahve a new diff cover that would say who made it, but it very could be an axle form a different jeep or totally different car that someone refurbished and put in taht is stronger than the stock axles.

The only thing about a locked AMC 20 is that the two piece shafts are a weak spot. Nice looking rig. As for the AMC rearend if the rear axle diff cover is a rounded dish style it is an original style if it has any ridges other then dents then it is an aftermarket style axle.
