I visited Iowa a few weeks ago and it was an awesome experience. I'll visit all of the battleship museums at least once! I want to visit Texas before they pull her out of the water.

It's very, very humbling standing next to one of Iowa's guns and knowing they could lob a shell that weighed as much as a CJ 25 miles...

2013 JKUS

I don't think USMC Jeeps had stars on them but I liked the look. I have decals that say fuel near the fuel tank as well. Looking for a rear bumper and small lift as if like to stay with 33s.

I love your JK, man. Dune with those wheels looks freaking fantastic. If I didn't wind up with DCP I would've gone Dune and done the exact same thing.

J8 hood scoop feeler for a group buy

I have been in contact with Doc at Springtail Solutions. They have been busy building a new line of storage products for the JKs. He is in the process of making a J8 tribute and has fabricated a J8 hood scoop that is very close to how the real thing appears. I have been talking to him about whether they have plans to manufacture these or not. He tells me that if there is enough interest, he would consider making a batch for us. He would need at least 10 interested parties to commit to prepaying. Here are the details....
Group buy details
Price $90.00 plus shipping
Product would ship about 3-4 weeks after payment is accepted.
Once we get 10+ parties interested, he will post a link on the website for us to pay. Once enough have paid, he will start manufacturing the J8 hood scoops.
Product details
Hood scoop will be finished in powder coat primer.
As you can see in pictures, welds will need to be finished for a smooth look. He liked the appearance of the welds and most painted unfinished.
The fit is close but not perfect, sticky back rubber foam will be provided with the scoop. As you can see in the pictures, the foam provides better fit and aesthetics. Mounting holes will be placed approximately the way they are on his prototype. No hardware is provided
This GB is only for the hood scoop, there are no internals yet to hook it up to the air intake. That would be up to us to figure out....as you can see in the pictures, it is pretty close. Obviously, not a project for the faint of heart since you would be cutting a hole in your hood According to Doc, these are very hard to fabricate and to manufacture which is why no one offers them. Since Doc is not a vendor on this forum, he will not be participating in this thread other than to answer any questions through me.

I like those rims too. "Sarge" came out around the same time as the JT concept which used stockton smoothies. It wouldn't be surprising if they used stockton's on both vehicles. Try giving them a call.

This is my little interpretation of Israel's J8, the Storm 3:

Flat paint, custom bumpers, pintle hook, steel wheels, etc.
Real STORM 3 is like this:

Glad I found this thread. Bought a 2013 Commando Green JK back in October before my PCS to prime Jeep country. CG or Dune were the only color options O was lookong for as I always intended on a military theme build as tribute to my brothers and sisters in arms. I have tons of ideas, unfortunately uncle sam doesnt pay me enough for my budget to be large enough so progress is slow. Beastmaster's "Sarge" came up on a google image search and has been my original inspiration. Then I found 1Topp's "A-14". I will give you 2 alot of credit on my build.

So far I removed the front bumper IOT add my rough country shackle kit for my toe bar setup I used for my PCS. Then I trimmed the front metal bumper for looks. Not sure that I want to keep it this way. I have a lead on some free stock bumpers that I will hopefully pic up this weekend to do my hidden winch setup until I can afford my Rampage Recovery Front Bumper (credit to beastmaster). I found an awsome member on JK forum that shipped me his used 1.5 inch wheel spacers when he found out I was military for free. Latest mod is the 285/75/16 Goodyear Duratracs I picked up from Discount Tire for $189 when they price matched 4wd.com's memorial day sale. Until those are paid off I have a negatove budget so any following mods will be pay it forward or diy cheap mods. I will star my own build thread with my intended mod list / stages soon.

1Topp, I may have overlooked it but what seat covers are you using?

First of all, I'd like to say; Thank you for your service!

Nice looking rig, looking forward to the "militarization" progress.

(I removed your extra pic BTW)

I never even though of those since they arent for our model year. Did you have to do much adjusting or did they fit that well out of the box?
