You have one of the most impressive builds I have seen. If there was a Wrangler Forum hall of fame I'd nominate you.

Thanks for the good words guys, it's taken a while but it's been a labor of love.

I just hope that when people see it they think of our courageous military and the part the noble Jeep has played it it.

(By some of the reactions I get from people I think it's working)

Love the Jeep Sarge. I laughed when I saw the TP in the fender wells. Former SrA here. Like the idea of the 1800 in the glove box. Make sure that jack is listed on it though! QA has been spotted in the area!!

Beastmaster just found this thread with all the pics of Sarge. Looks great. I'm just starting on my "Jake" and hope to get him looking like Sarge some day.

Oh man, that's awesome. Great Idea, great work, fantastic Jeep.

Btw:
A few month ago, my TJ needs a name. I call him "Sarge" too.
Ok, thats very special for a german jeeper but it's my salute to all WW2 GI's who gave germany peace and freedom.

My Jeep is nearly stock, but it's a Jeep, an ancestor of the Willys Jeep special constructed for the WW2.
I will say "Thank You Guys" for giving us peace and freedom in germany.

decided over the 4 day to "armyify" the DJ. My grandfather was in the 508th during Market Garden, so once the OD is all done, it'll get some B Co. 508th bumper numbers as a finishing touch

Thanks for all the good words guys, it's been lots of fun.

There is a place called Military Stencils where I've gotten several stickers for a more authentic feel. I even picked up an Air Corps sticker (Military-Graphics) for my Tuffy stereo cover.

I just picked up a 1942 Willys MBT trailer for $300 on Craigs List.

It's a little rough around the edges but I see potential.

I'll post pics as things progress (things will be slow due to time constraints)

Tough Looking Rig! When is the .50 cal coming in to mount? haha. I like when people tribute their rig for such a great reason! Gives me some great ideas for mine. Thanks for sharing and supporting our troops!

Thanks, It's amazing what you can accomplish with one arm and lots of free time (I'm at home recovering from rotator cuff surgery). I just finished phase one of my trailer restoration, here's what I did:
  • Checked and re-greased all fittings
  • Repaired and improved sloppy tailgate mod (it didn't originally have a tailgate)
  • Fixed spare tire carrier (formerly just a large bolt, replaced with my old carrier I had laying around)
  • Sprayed on undercoating and bed lining
  • Replaced trailer hitch with removable lunette ring
  • Re-wire lights and replace reflectors
  • Re-paint body and put on WW2 markings
  • Purchase Tarp and Jerry cans
More work to come over the next few years, but it didn't come out too badly.

Here are some before and after pics:

Before

After
Note: Not sure how old the First Aid kit in the last shot is (it was on the trailer when I bought it) but it may be original equipment.
