There are forum threads of military themed Jeeps of the various models but I'm hoping to pull them all together in one spot. This way people's great ideas aren't restricted to a single model Wrangler.
Here's my "Sarge", I'm sure most of you have seen him and I've had lots of fun with it. I tried to make the markings circa 1941 with the "Invasion Stars" (star surrounded by a broken circle) from the 7th Troop Transport Squadron of the US Army Air Corps.
Thank you for all this info! went through the Solargraphics site and purchased my decals, just to find out they will be closed for two weeks and I have to wait until August 12th for them to ship :banghead: oh well, it will be worth the wait...
I sold it this past spring, but here's a couple of the most recent pics after the flat fenders were installed. Refer to my link below for a good chunk of the build thread. I miss him.
Nothing against the military decals on a factory paint job, heck I have a factory paint job. I think they look so much better on OD matt paint. :action-smiley:
Thanks for all the posts so far guys, they look awsome.:thumb:
(1Topp, I figured you'd be one of the first, thanks for representing the desert tan!)

I guess I'm showing the kid in me, I want to take my YJ and turn him into the transformer Autobot Hound. He was based off of an old military jeep and later just a Wrangler. I'm going to put the Oscar-Mike star in the center of my hood and Autobot symbols above the Jeep name.
Only one I have on my computer right now. The "serial" number on the hood is my dads birthday. 05 for May, 40 for the year. He's an "old" Air Commando from Vietnam/Laos. I always joke with him, when I joined the military I told him "you Air Force guys have it to easy, playing golf all the time, so I'm gonna join the Navy and rough it" LOL...
I wish I can be just half the Dad and person he is, if I can attain that I'll be doing an excellent job.
So I can finally add my Jeep (which has been christened "War Pig" by one of my buddies) to the Official thread. Forgive the multiple posts but the forum refused to let me do it in a long one or let me do it in short ones with the pics just pasted in, I just kept receiving different error massages ... Anyway, I feel like some back story is needed to catch everyone up whether they were on my thread or not.
I stated out with a 2009 2 door JK sport as my first Jeep and loved it. It took a year to get to the point it was in this pic, which was taken about a week after the mods (2.5" Teraflex lift, 17" Procomp rims, and 33" Duratracs) on the day I finished adding the decals. At this point I only had the US Flags which were on order, and a custom rendition of the Gadsden Flag to put on. As well as letting the weather clear up enough to put on the soft top i bought for it.
But then tragedy! Exactly six days after my mods I was driving home from work at 2AM (I'm a server working through college) and got hit and run by a drunk driver. Or at least we assume he was drunk because he was never caught. Although the damage doesn't look to bad from the pic the crash was by no means a love tap. I walked away with only whiplash but most people in on the story think if not for the A/T tires holding their ground I would have been spun several times and badly injured. My Jeep didn't fare so well... the front axle, body, and frame were all bent beyond repair. It was totaled. I was devastated especially after all the money I had just dropped on it. However, my ins. company pulled through and I actually made money on the deal!
Two weeks later I rolled off the lot with this 2011 JKU Sport. I was gonna spring for the '13 but I wanted the four door to help with cargo because I frequently go camping with friends and the two door was hard to fit all the gear in. There were a few other reasons as well, but for the sake of getting on with it...The rims and tires took 0 damage (luckily) so I was able to swap them out for the stock set before the ins company took position of the totaled one. The second pic is from the 2nd day of owning War Pig, I like it because it shows a nice comparison between tires and rims. My lift was back-ordered though so I had to wait a few weeks before I could put it on. Another thing worth mentioning is 4 Wheel Drive hardware was understanding of the situation and took the 2door soft top back (which I had bought way back in January) and replaced it with the 4 door version no problem, it just cost an extra $100.
So there you are, once again I am waiting for the snake and the US flags but I'm finally back to where I was in May. My friend talked me into getting a dark grey color scheme for the decals this time in place of the white so they would blend in a bit more "a bigger bad A** affect" in his words. I thought they might be a bit darker but I like how it turned out. I am also considering getting another small star to put over the fuel do but it would require cutting to use the door and I think that may cause it to wear real fast, we'll see.
