09 Wrangler Subwoofer Selection

Hey everyone, I've been a lurker but I decided to register because I haven't been able to find satisfactory information that I need... so hopefully the community can help!

Anyways, I have a 09 Jeep Wrangler, stock everything. I've been wanting to slowly start upgrading the sound system, I'd like to start with a sub, I was just curious if I could run a sub/amp off of the stock radio? If so how is this possible?

I have a 200W Clarion Amp from my buddy and I was looking at a 12" Kicker sub in box(water resistant) for $250... I thought this would be a decent start since I don't want to spend a lot of cash at the moment. So folks, is it possible to do off the stock deck?

this is what you need to convert the speaker wires into a set of rca's, and this one has a built in remote turn on lead.

as for what to get, i would say to save a bit seeing that you dont want to spend much at the moment. if you go spend $250 now, in a few months you are going to say it would be nice to have gotten some thing a bit better.

Sweet thanks a lot man! Thats exactly what I was looking for.

As for saving for a bit, I'm not looking for a system to blow my windows out or anything... I just want something that sounds better then what I currently have because the stock system is pretty terrible. Shopping around today I found a Kicker 10" Sub in a box which is tiny, looks like it could fit under the seat, was price at $179... debating it.

you can go with a powered sub, take a look at the infinity basslink, out of all the powered subs out there it is the only one worth the money.

Infinity BassLink Powered subwoofer: 200 watts and a 10" sub at Crutchfield.com
