Negative neither are jail broken... judging by how positive the response was from others regarding their update, I am starting to think the update simply did not take on my RHB. I believe I took all proper procedural steps to install it, key in run position... sat through beeping sequence.. no errors, etc. The only thing that's a little weird is that when I hold the Uconnect phone button (as prescribed by xsdbs) for 15 seconds, it does not show up with a firmware version. It just does the phone prompt and cancels out of itself and goes back to whatever radio station it was on. Other than going into the menu and looking at the software version within the menus, I cannot get anything to pull up like what he describes. The versions are also no where close on that "inner system menu" than the software versions xsdbs says I should see.

Again, I installed the first TSB with no issues (or so it seems). And I also installed the second update posted in this thread with no issues (full beeping sequence, no errors etc). Very strange given the positive responses from all the others.

Sorry I haven't responded yet. I am on vacation thru next week and really haven't checked in since last week.
1) Ok, you say the streaming sound quality is still having the same issue. Is this the fast play that sounds like the chipmunks singing (Alvin)? On an iPhone this will happen only while streaming audio and the phones back lighting is on. If so then the updates haven't taken.
2) Your vehicle was built in 9-2010 and is a 2011 vehicle, correct?
3) The Uconnect SW version that I mentioned will only show up on the 2011 vehicles that were built after 6-2011. You can also verify this by getting to the Uconnect module that is mounted behind the HVAC control head below the radio. If the module PN is 05064635AG, then it is indeed the V1 build part and will not display the Uconnect SW version.
4) So to find out where you are in this process, Please stream audio from the iPhone, during the streaming audio play, please press and release the iPhones home button so that the iPhone lights up displaying the play now screen on the phone. What happens? Thanks

xsdbs,

I have read, I think, all of these Uconnect post issues and I have not found a fix for mine yet. I am probabably doing something wrong. I have had my Jeep for about two weeks. It is 2011 Oscar Mike. It has an RES radio and vehicle MFD 5-11. My issues is BT streaming quality sucks, and the only device that the radio can read thru USB is my Classic Ipod. The Ipod Touch plays in fastforward, and it does not read my Iphone at all, thru USB. All other phone functions work. I tried the SW update from one of the threads. It took about 15 minutes, went thru all the beeps, and then said SW was not compatible with device. All other updates were not recognized. It keep telling me insert the drive with the SW update. So I am at a loss. If I have missed a thread, I appologize, just point me in the right direction. I have noticed this is an exhausted issue. I appreciate any help.

Was the Uconnect installed at the factory or by the dealer? So the classic plays fine when connected to the docking cable? When does the touch play fast? The USB connector that you're plugging into is the one in the center console, correct?

xsdbs: I am assuming it was installed in the factory, because this vehicle was only sold overseas at exchange military car sales, and they do not have a the same capabilities to install dealer products. The classics plays perfectly thru the docking cable, the touch is fast forward from the start. Yes the USB connection is in the center console.

supercazzola: I have iOS 7.

hmm, I think that how I would start from here is to go to the link below and download the files in the order that I have mentioned and try applying them.
On the first update, if you still get that error message, then I'd try changing the extension to upn instead of upd and retry the update.

Do you work on your own vehicles?: If so could you get to the Uconnect module which is located below the radio and behind the HVAC control head? If you could, I'd like you to take a picture of the module so I can see the PN and SW version. This will help me to assist you further. I'm sure that we can get it figured out.

That would be great, with a picture of the module, I will be able to see the SW version & PN. This info will help me to direct you to the proper update and steps. Thanks

Hi, I just got the message "the used update archive is not compatible with this device". Does anyone know where to get a fix for my poor bluetooth audio streaming? I'm a 2012 Wrangler with an RHB.

Thanks

Registered with the site just so I could post a quick "Thank You" to xsdbs. I purchased a used 2011 Jeep Grand Cherokee about a month ago and my biggest complaint by far was the audio quality via bluetooth and the fact that I couldn't connect my iphone via USB to radio (RHB). Having driven an older Ford Escape for years that was able to accomplish both of these flawlessly, these problems were unacceptable in my opinion. I ran both updates today and WOW, both problems are gone. I couldn't be happier, thank you very much!
