what year is the Jeep?
If it's a 2011, you want to make sure that they are installing an "AK" level part. If the part is an "AG" part, you will want to make sure that they perofrm the update for it (TSB # 08-036-11 revA, now there is a revised TSB that may have been released last week which is TSB # 08-019-12).
If the part is an "AK" then you may be able to get them to perform the TSB # 08-019-12, also listed above.

If he vehicle is a 2012, you will want to know if the part is an "AK" or an "AC" level part. If it is an "AC" nothing is needed. If it's an "AK" level part,
then you will want them to perform TSB# 08-018-12 (which is the one we have been talking about here.
Oh, and by the "part", I am referring to the main Uconnect module in the kit.

Did anyone else get a trojan virus while downloading this? Luckily McAfee caught it and deleted it, but it happened while downloading this file.

Haven't heard this from anyone else and I have it on 4 different forums. There has been about 120 downloads of the 2012 update and in fact as you see it was just used the other day by Sarath with no problems. I don't know if someone can attach one to the file. Did you use the file at all? Maybe I should just delete it and upload it again.

well out of curiosity, I just downloaded the file from this thread and had no issues at all. My laptop has McAfee on it also. The file downloaded to my computer and I saved it to the thumb drive from the computer. I'm not sure what happened on your side though.

Thanks for the clarification, I'm printing this out to take with me. Oh, and it's a 2012.

I used the file without problems, though funny enough it turned out I already had the updated version. Ha! I'm not sure where the trojan came from, and luckily it didn't cause any problems. It just made me curious that it popped up right after I downloaded that file. I haven't had a virus in years. I'm glad to see it appears to be a fluke

Thanks XSDBS for taking the time for posting all of this information! When I first used bluetooth streaming (samsung galaxy s2 AT&T) the sound quality was poor. I will update later when I update the firmware.

Did the update this morning, everything went smoothly, albeit slowly. Bluetooth sounds MUCH better now. Thanks so much for posting this, and for all the helpful info.

Well you need to apply the update, your SW is most likely 1 level down.

Sorry, but does this file applies both to 08-019-12 and 08-018-12 TSB's?
It doesn't work on my MY2011 jeep's RBZ

I apologize, somehow I thought that you had a 2012 vehicle. Here ya go:
2011 update 08-019-12

Here's the file and instructions for the Uconnect update.
Download it to a thumb drive that has no other files on it. If you have files on it, please delete them and format the drive (to FAT32) just to make sure that it is completely clean.
Turn the radio on, Place the thumb drive in the center console USB connector (on vehicles with the dealer installed unit, it should be in the glove box), press and hold the Uconnect button for about 12 - 15 seconds, you should here "update started". This process should take about 15 - 20 minutes, there will be some beeps during the process. Please listen during the update for any error message that may be said by Uconnect. When the update is completed, the radio screen will go back to a radio display. Now plug in your iPhone or iPod and let it be read by Uconnect, does it start playing after being read? Let me know how this works out for you.

And the link:

Unfortunately this update also doesn't work... Durind the update procedure it says something like "this update is not compatible with ak..."

The last update was 08-036-11 Rev.A which was performed by myself using your files posted on this forum.

OK, so I'm confused a little. You didn't mention doing the update last year. The listed TSB 08-019-12 is the exact same SW update that the 08-036-11 rev A is. There is only some difference in the wording of the TSB for the techs.
What is the current issue that you are having? If it's streaming audio quality, there currently is not an update for that and Chrysler may not have one made.

Yes, the curren issue is bluetooth audio streaming quality. This is the only reason. In this thread I've noted that some people report significant improvement in audio quality after update, so I thought an update would help me to.

Thats correct, but it's for the 2012 modules that also have a hardware change in them that the 2011's dont have.

So, the only way to improove sound quality is to replace HFM with a new one?

At this point yes, that's the only way. The dealer wants about $450 for the module. I know of a person that I can get them for around $300 if I get a few people together that are interested., There are other enhancements on the 2012 system other than the better sound quality.

Cj, this thread originally started out as an informational thread on the 2012 Wrangler for the streaming audio. This update that is listed here is for the 2012 Chrysler vehicles only and will not work on the 2011 vehicles.
As of right now there is not an update for streaming audio on the 2011 vehicles and I am not sure if there will be one.
