Sure there is. Its TSB 08-019-12. Came out March 27, 2012. But you need the part # for the HFM cause it's only for HFM that end in AK or AF/AG if it end in AH, you have to use the file for TSB 08-015-11.

Here is the symptom list:
SYMPTOM/CONDITION:These Symptom are for the HFM that end with the part
number AF/AG.
The customer may experience the following:

·
The message “connecting to device” is displayed on audio devices including Apple
iTouch, iPod, or iPhone when connected to the vehicle USB port, but the device will
not sync to the HFM to play audio.
·

Audio devices including iPod Touch, iPhone, and some other phones will drop out
and/or skip during a streaming audio session.
NOTE: HFM part numbers that end with AK will receive the following enhancements.
·

Reduced “Device Reading” wait time after connecting a device to the remote USB
port.
·

Call / Dial separation improves upon names being recognized as phone numbers.
·

Improved sound quality during Bluetooth streaming.
·

Increased iPod and iPhone compatibility.
·

SMS messaging support via MAP protocol (not all phones support the MAP protocol)
·

Added “None of These” and “Correction” to the phone book prompt menu for better
handling of similar names.
·

Previous button will return the song currently being played to the beginning of the
track.
·

AirPlay feature “Dock Connector” no longer needs to be manually selected on Apple
devices. This will resolve the “No Audio” condition when the device is connected to
the remote USB port and dock connector is not selected.

Sorry, I just now saw this posting.
Now for a little explanation here:
1) the 2011 V1 (pre 6-2011 build date which will have the "AF, AG, or AH" modules)Uconnect does not have an update available for the streaming audio quality. If either of the TSB's mentioned are a[pplied to those vehicles, they will not have the enhanced streaming audio. The SW and HW are both different than in the post 6-2011 built vehicles.
2) If you have the "AK" module in your vehicle (post 6-2011 build date) which has the SW & HD upgrades, it s capable of being updated and receiving the enhancements of the TSB 08-019-12 that you mentioned.
SO is there an update for better streaming audio, yes & no. It all depends on the build date of the vehicle.

Just tried this update twice. On the first one, everything started fine, went inside to do a few things and came back out after 10 minutes and the radio was back on. Thought maybe I got lucky not having to wait 25 minutes for the SW update, but when I tried to move on with the instructions by pressing and holding the UConnect button for 15 secs, I didn't see a software version pop up, and the radio started back up on it's own.

So I tried a second time and sat in the jeep to make sure I wasn't missing anything. About 6 minutes in, got a message that the "digital signature of the used update archive is incorrect" and the screen went back to the radio (albeit the volume turned down to zero).

Can you help? BTW build date on my 2012 is Oct '11

Eric

Hello Eric,
I have heard about this before and it usually was cured by trying a different flash drive, Making sure the FD is formatted to FAT 32 and the file is not in a folder. I have also had a couple people that were successful when they tried a different USB hub on their computer.

Thanks for the quick reply. I'll try another flash drive at work on a different computer.

I think it may have been the flash. The first time I used a new one, it actually didn't work either, so i re-formatted to make sure that it was FAT. After that, it worked fine. Phone is a blackberry 9650

Thanks for the information. I just like to know what helps people when they have an issue with performing the updates. I thought the phone may have been a BB device. They work well with the Uconnect txt messaging.

Update worked

I have a 2012 JKU, build date 9-2011, RES radio. I was extremely disappointed with the quality of the BT streaming, it was simply too distorted. I use Spotify, so I like to stream my music.

Before downloading the file I "unpaired" my iPhone 4 from the radio. I downloaded the update and followed the instructions. It took 25 minutes on the button to do the update. Turned the Jeep off, opened/closed the door, waited 30 seconds, turned it back on, waited 15 more seconds. Did the press and hold and the update didn't come up. Turned the Jeep off, open and closed the door, waited 30 seconds, turned it back on, waited 15 seconds, then press and held the UConnect button again. This time it worked. Paired my iPhone 4 again, then fired up bluetooth streaming.

Sound was MUCH better. I'm actually looking forwad to listening to Spotify on the way to work tomorrow. Thank you very much for hosting the download and posting the instructions. Besides that one hiccup, everything went as planned.

Thank you G8r hatr and you're welcome. Sometimes the button may need to be held a second longer or even waiting a bit longer for all the modules to go to sleep before turning the key back on. I'm glad that I could help you and others out with this update. Enjoy it.

Updated last night and I am very happy with the results! Previously sounded pretty horrible via Bluetooth.

This is perfect for me because:

- Connecting via aux sounded great, but I didn't like the excessive wires hanging out.

- Connecting via USB sounded great, but I lost my music controls on the iPhone while connected. Controlling the iPhone using the stereo is pretty bad.

With better quality Bluetooth I get to keep my iPhone controls, but can still charge via USB.

Thanks for the help xsdbs!

Kremlar, sorry I didn't see this till now. If you still would like to know, on the lower right corner of the radio faceplate, there is a 3 digit code. That will be the radio model (ex: RES, REQ, RHB, RBZ)

Doh! I feel like an idiot for missing that. Not sure how I didn't see it.

Seriously - it's a life saver. Music is very important to me, and without this update I would have been very unhappy with any of my options.

Even better than I expected, steering wheel controls allow me to skip tracks even over Bluetooth! Wasn't sure that was going to work.

Thanks again.

I finally got around to installing this update on my 2012 RES radio. A few thoughts:

- The new "feature" that when you are listening to USB and then shut the Jeep off and then restart and it does not automatically go back to USB - really annoying!

- Another USB issue with the iPhone 4 running the latest version of ios. The song titles are completely truncated and the artist does not show. Before the song title would start on line 1 of the display and wrap to line 2. Now it starts on line 2 with no wrap. Yes I can hit the info button but why should I? This is a step backwards.

- The Bluetooth streaming is fixed so that is a plus.

Anyone know how to fix my second issue?

I know that Ihave this thread listed as a "2012 Uconnect.....) thread, but there have been a few inquiries about 2011 streaming audio quality.
I have started another thread on that subject, it's being slightly discussed and if I can get some help from the members here. If you are a 2011 vehicle owner, please go to this thread and add your information on the list. Thanks in advance.

1) REsume play is not supported now due to some warranty claims that were happening with vehicles that have factory remote starters installed.
When a vehicle is remote started, the radio is powered upbut Uconnect is not powered up yet. The reason for this is because if the vehicle is parked within the BT range,
A) your phone would pair up inthe remote start mode, if you had an incoming call you would not receive it.
B) If you tried to place an outgoing call, the person on the other end would not hear you because you're not in the vehicle.

So here's what would happen to those people with remote starter, they would remote start the vehicle, (if you were listening to an iPod when you last left the vehicle), the radio would be on and basically in an AUX mod with no audio signal going thru. When you get into the vehicle and turn the key on, the Uconnect module would power up, your phone would then start to pair up and the iPod would start to play. The problem is that when the module powered up, there was a "POP" thru the speakers that was quite audible. So the only way around this was to have the iPod be started manually.

2) What radio do you have? Also when you say the iPhone hasthe latest SW in it,are you referring to the 5.1.1 or are you testing the engineering release of the iOS6?
I have the iPhone 4 & the 4S both with the 5.1.1 on them, my radio is the RHB and I'm not really seeing any difference.

So there's no newer update for the RHB? I'm still plagued with BT streaming loss of quality. And initializing when plugged through USB takes 5-10 minutes sometimes, if it works at all.

Yes, there is.

Hmm, I was helping you on a different thread and for some reason was under the impression that you had a different radio. Go to the link below, enter your VIN#.

I've been very happy with this update. Two issues I've had however using my iPhone 4:

1 - I intermittently get a 1 second drop-out. Almost seems like it pauses for a second then resumes. I don't believe that I "miss" any of the song.

2 - I can't seem to listen to my voicemail over Bluetooth / Uconnect.

Anyone else having these issues? Do not have these issues with my iPhone 4 connected to my wife's Honda Pilot Bluetooth.

Thanks

Wow, I cannot get this update to start. I have downloaded the .upd to a freshly formatted (Fat32) usb stick, and have tried firing it off from both inside the center console and from the face of my 730N. Neither the holding of the uconnect button (tried every button on the face) for 20+ seconds, nor the voice commands mentioned at the beginning of this thread work. I am super frustrated... there has to be something simple I am missing.

I have a 2012 JKU with a Sept '11 build date, although my 730N has already been replaced once (it has been a fun ride.) The software version for the 730N is 2.120, and I I think everything is normal... and yes, my bluetooth stream sounds like crap. Anyone have any suggestions? I'm feeling like an idiot here.

Thanks,

Scott

Not to sound like an A$$ but the very first post of this thread would have given you the answer:

OK, well you are the first to hear this. I told you that I would let you know when the 2012 Uconnect SW update was released. The dealers received it today. The TSB # is 08-018-12. Below is just the highlight of the TSB. This TSB is for the 2012 vehicles built prior to 1-1-2012 and have the following radios (RES,REQ,RHB,RBZ) and have the Uconnect system. This update has nothing to do with the radio, only the external UC module.
OK, so now you're wondering "can I do the update or do I have to take it to the dealer. Give me a couple days to work on this, I do have the file but I need to call a couple of the dealers to see if they can find it in their STAR system. Once I can confirm that they have it (but probably don't know what to do, even though the procedures will be the same as the TSB from last year and some dealers still claim there is no such TSB) Then I should be able to help further.

You have a Harman radio, so this will not work for you.
