From what I'm seeing, you don't need to cut pieces out of the dash, with a 2004 Jeep, for the adapters to place in the 5.25 speakers. But, you may need to drill holes for the adapter. I recommend the CDT's. They are rated from 60-90watts RMS, and much better sounding than the Infinity Kappa's, and better handling capability than the similar (45RMS) Polks or Kappa's. At 90watts RMS you are ready for any sub/amp later. They are made in the U.S., in California.
Information about Vehicle modification for adapter in Jeep (1997-02) and (Jeep 2004)
"NOTE: All 1997-2002 5.25" speaker modifications(regardless of adapter manufacturer) require you cut metal inside your dash(2003-2006 do not require cutting).
