7 Speaker w/Sub Woofer/368 Watt Amp??

I know someone said to get the 7 speaker w/sub-woofer/368 watt amplifier in order to hear the radio with the top off(going down the expressway). Do you think its really needed with the Freedom Top(leaving the back on and the front removed) on? I'm trying to decide whether to get this or the side steps option. Any recommendations? Thanks

Order it you wont be disapointed....The side steps have to be removed for off road use as they are pretty lightweight and one hit would pretty much kill em and bend the body where they are mounted....much better aftermarket availability if ya want steps...Gary

I pretty much ordered everything on my rubicon less the smokers package, block heater, and stuck with the 6speed. If you have your top off you will not hear the sub that's just a given. The rest of the stero is very nice and imo worth every penny. Only question I still don't have an answer to is if the Sub is water proof.

is it possible to add the stereo afterwards or is it just not worth it?

Get the stereo, leave off the side steps. My 97 had the base stereo, and it was garbage. couldn't hear it with the top down even with the upgraded speakers. My 05 rubi has the 7 speaker premium sound and its night and day, you can even blast the music louder than nesessary with the top down.

Both Jeeps had side steps, both sets are still sitting in my garage with cob webs on em. They are kinda nice in summer if you don't wheel, but in winter they are just down right dangerous. Even in summer, if you wheel at all you will break them within the first 3 trips depending how hard you wheel.
