Alpine Radar Sensor

Does anyone know anything about the Alpine Radar Sensor model 8600? It appears that my '97 Wrangler has had one on board since before I got her 7+ yrs. ago and I never even knew it!

Both my mechanic and now the body shop mentioned that I had (or have) a security system on the rig. My Jeep is currently in the shop to be painted and the interior bedlined. The shop removed all exterior and interior parts that won't get painted including the center console.

I've always noted that there are some aftermarket wires that ran into the lid of the center console. While cleaning it up, I decided to find out what the wires were connected to and found, to my surprise, the Alpine sensor and removed it.

Yesterday I found a message on my cell from the shop. They can't start the car and wanted to know about "my security system".

I couldn't find much about it on the net (I can't even find an Alpine website) except that this model has a number of features (one that may include a kill switch!). It should have come with a remote control - but none came with the Jeep when my son originally bought it.

Does anyone know where I can find a wiring diagram for it. How can the whole thing be removed from the rig?

I'm glad I didn't throw out the sensor itself. It looks like I'll need to take it into the shop and have it reconnected in order for them to start the Jeep.

Thanks in advance.

Did you ever get anything figured out? I'm having the same issue now.
