Another speaker question

i know there are tons of threads out there about speakers, but i have absolutely no audio knowledge whatsoever. so...

I just bought off of ebay the 5 1/4 front speaker adapters, looking to upgrade my sound up front.

would these fit right, and would you reccommend them?

Buy the Kicker KS 5-1/4" Coaxial Speakers and other Car speakers at circuitcity.com

theyre the kicker ks 5 1/4 coaxial speakers.

ive heard alot of rave reviews about kicker in other fields, like amp and subs, so howabout the speakers?

-thanks for the help guys

they are nice but there are many other speakers in that price range that can perform a little better. look into some infinity kappa's on ebay, there are some good deals with infinity speakers.

take a look at these

Infinity Kappa 52.9i 5-1/4" 2-way car speakers at Crutchfield.com

or if you want to kick it up a notch you can go with a set of component speakers.

Infinity Kappa 50.9cs 5-1/4" component speaker system at Crutchfield.com

Take a look on ebay for a set, you will save good money.

Those speakers both have exceptionally high sensitivity ratings, 94 and 93 dB respectively and either would be a very good choice for a stock am/fm/cd deck as they would put out more volume than most other speakers would.

Personally, I'd go for the first link since they have a slightly higher sensitivity (more sound output at the same wattage input power) but more importantly, they're less expensive. In a Wrangler that is typically noisy anyway, you're not going to notice enough in the way of sound quality difference.

ebay has both for very good prices

NEW 08 SET INFINITY KAPPA 52.9I 5.25" 2 WAY 165W SPKRS - eBay (item 120323828633 end time Oct-30-08 08:18:18 PDT)

***INFINITY KAPPA 50.9cs 5.25" COMPONENTS ***2008 MODEL - eBay (item 250313567537 end time Oct-30-08 09:53:23 PDT)

i would go for the components because the clarity is just amazing. so for an extra $50 you will be amazed at the difference in sound quality even with a stock radio.
