Antenna mount from Quadratec

I am installing the tire carrier mount from Quadratec and was wondering if anyone else has used this mount.

It says to route the coax through the tailgate grommet where the third brake light wiring runs.

Do you cut the grommet so the coax can run along side the third brake light, then apply silicone or similar to seal the cut portion of the grommet and maybe even a bead around the grommet?

Thanks!

Anyone reseal that grommet?

Should have titled it that way, but has anyone routed the coax through the 3rd brake light grommet and resealed it? Thanks!

I ran mine through the grommet on the other side, that way I don't have 2 lines running through the same grommet. I then sealed around the cut, didn't see any reason to seal around the grommet itself.

Thanks for the tip

I did use that grommet and it almost self-seals itself and is a very clean look. Thanks for the tip bbtj!

I can't answer that one. I have a JK, which has a plastic piece on the inside, which just pops off.
