antenna wire routing

Will it be ok to run my antenna wire along the roll bars under the padding? The metal bars won't cause interferance??

That should be fine as long as you don't coil it up.

will it be ok if I spiral it around the bars not in one spot but along the length of them to take up extra slack?

I'll probably put it on a tail light antenna mount. I want to run it through the inside of the jeep but I don't have any carpet to hide it under so the roll bar padding is another place to run the wire and keep it hidden

remove the padding and run the cablke along the rollbar with some zip ties. don´t run the cable around the rollbar. i wouldn´t do that.

you have a 05 TJ without carpet...?

I planned on using the zip ties but I may need to wrap it around the bar in a coulpe places just to use up some extra slack in the wire. Yean my jeep has bedliner sprayed in the tub instead of carpet. It was done by the previous owner.

if you wrap it around once or twice and the cable is wrapped unsteady and not like a spool it will be ok.

That's not the issue that some make it out to be. Try coiling your excess CB antenna cable length in a reasonable size coil sometime and see if you can legitimately tell any difference in how well your CB works.

I first got into both military, commercial, and civilian (ham) radio communications in the late sixties and trust me when I say that most HF installations, whether it be commerical or military, usually have excess antenna cable coiled up without problem.

Yep there are all kinds of coils like RF chokes that can cause problems but simply coiling up exessive RG-58 etc. cable in a common arm-size diameter isn't going to cause a problem for a CB.
