So I just ordered 2 10" jl subs rated for about 250 watts I think. And a 500 watt alpine amp. I had a bazooka tube and a 400 watt amp before. Think this is a good setup?
what series of JL.....in past all JL subs were great. but in last several years quality has gone down on some models, since people whant cheap stuff. if it's 250w RMS then probably the w3's which are very nice speakers, if it's max power then probably W1 which aren't that great. not that w1 is complete junk, it's just not a JL....if that makes since. it's made over sea's not in us like old JL's were...so may say JL but doesnt havr smooth bass roll off.
as for Alpine..they are probably still ok... they live off their name though...kind of like bose for home audio...over prices for what they are
Yeah they are the jl w3's that handle 250. I just like the amp because my dad has a few in his truck and they have lasted a while. that's all im looking for.
that should be a good setup im always down for anything alpine...and honestly anything is going to be better than a bazooka tube. Im running a single mtx thunder 12" with a Power Acoustik amp and it rattles everything including my brain.
for $200 you can get a 600rms lethal injection from incriminator audio, and those things push some good power. just go to you tube and take a look at a few vids people have put up.
