I have heard the amplified ones and was not impressed at all. I have a 12" sub in sealed box now powered by large amp, and was just curious how the 10" passive bazooka might sound? I like the cleaner/ tighter sound of a 10" over the 12"...and have heard the bazooka's in enclosed vehicles, but not in a jeep with top down. I have read in various posts where people complained about not being able to hear the ones that have amp built in going down the road..but I would have to think hitting a passive one with plenty of power should still hammer hard ? Thoughts ?

They all sound just about the same. With the right box a 12 would sound just as tight and responsive as a 10

^^ agreed. Majority of a subwoofer's sound is derived from the enclosure it's in.

I've heard 15's pop out the upper bass just like a 10" would.. But then they would turn around a wiggle your gut...

a small sealed enclosure will do the job.

I have an 10" bazooka. It is amplified tho. I love it I put it right behind the driver seat and it sound really good people can here me coming down the road with it and It shakes my mirror. With the top off it sounds good. I did have it in the back behind the back seat and you could hear it but not as good but it would still shake my mirror. It sounds the same as any other sub that you would put in a vehicle with no top on. But I can't complain because I got mine for $10. and it is kinda small, I would get another one if something happened to it.

they sound ok in a jeep, im not a fan of the powered subs like the bazooka tube. just use what you have to build a nice little setup. that way you can make a box to fit just how you want it and right were you want it.
