Approach lights

I have an older exploder, but love my new cosmos blue 2012 jk. I would love however to have better/cool approach lighting. Right now when you hit the door unlock, the headlights and park lights come on. I would love to put some led's under the doors to shine on the ground so you can see better. I have some blue led's that I am putting under the dash for the interior and I am wiring them to the dome light.

My question, I don't want these lights on when I turn on the headlights, just when unlocking doors. Is there a circuit to tap for just the approach lighting system? I'm thinking this is controlled by computer not a seperate circuit like the dome lights. Is there a way to do this?

I'd try the approach lights with the dome light. It'll turn on every time you close the door and unlock it with the keyless entry.

Figured out the interior lights but realized the dome light does not come on with door unlock. will have to try something different.

My footwell lights match my paint color.

Do you have keyless entry or are you unlocking manually?

you can also change the color of the lights in your gauge cluster too.

my jeep has all blue lights(gauge cluster, floorboards, headunit, remote gain control for my amp)
