Audio components

I was wondering if there were components out there that can replace the original speakers that sound better than stock for a 2008 JK

I would think almost everything would sound better than stock. Well, maybe everything... I've heard some really crappy stuff before that was aftermarket. What are you looking to achieve?

I have a soft top and I know this summer as soon as the top comes off I want to be able at least to hear it. Of course I would love a high power unit but would rather right now put my money on the mods but I do want more out of the stereo

I put infinity reference in the dash and blapunkt in my sound bar, tiny little YJ speakers, too (4x6 & 4.5). Powered by a jvc arsenal, it has absolutly no bass but gets incredibly loud. I am sure any decent makers will leave you pleased - I didn't even go with a seperate componant setup or amp.

Now to build a center console for a pair of super mids or lil 8" sub... I grew up with bass thumpers, I hate living in tweeterville, lol.

I have an 08 with Infinity system, I tried to add a Apline amp to increase power. Added Alpine component 6 1/2 in dash and Alpine 6 1/2 in soundbar. It still sucked so out came Factory H/U and in went a JVC arsenal removeable face double din. MAJOR difference!!! Last week added second amp and JL Audio Stealthbox. AWESOME. Didn't want to spend bucks but it is worth it. Can't wait until roof is off

What I would recommend doing, upgrade the head unit for sure, then the speakers. That will give you a small bit of a boost in level and staging. If you need more of a sound stage, you could go with component speakers, bi-amp the fronts using a decent 200W+ 4 channel amp, and then do a dedicated 50W 2 channel for the rear. From there you can look into some subs... but that will get you started with a decent quality system.

How much are you into that set up?
