You've got to try the 12 year. Did an informal taste test with some friends and everyone picked it as their top, but car bombs is how i got hooked on it. I do keep a bottle of Bushmills around too though. You can never too many bottle of good whiskey.

hey sonofcj,
curious if you ever got those buttons to work on the steerng wheel. I wanted to use the same buttons on my jeep. I have a base model without those buttons. I wanted see what i needed to make them work. thanks!

Technically yes all the buttons work but the Sony HU doesn't support the voice and call buttons. You have to look up each HU manufacturers support via your wire harness adapter specs. I still think was worth the 35 bucks and the hour worth of time since it makes it easier to navigate the the car menues, but I am still bummed that I can't just hit the call button to at least pick up a call.

Did I see a pic of the steering wheel's airbag out, or am I mistaken? What did you need to do that for?

Here's some links, sorry I don't remember the exact details but I pretty much just followed their advice. It wasn't a big deal at all. I know there was another write up here on the forum that was about adding cruise control too.

When you installed the phone button (link here, did you need any additional wiring (or s new harness? Or did it fit into the existing connections behind the switch?

I'm planning on adding the uconnect to the base radio and don't want to use the stock phone button switch. I think the short answer is that you have to get the 130S with the phone button on the head unit to make the steering wheel phone controls work.

FWIW, good article reviewing the add on uconnect kit.

It was just plug and play, and yes I think if you used a oem head unit you'd be ok. Since I didn't it was pretty much a wasted upgrade.
