Audio upgrade - double check me?

Just wanna make sure I'm not gonna pull some kind of audio-Chadwick

When I got the jeep it had an 8" sub in the console that wasn't hooked up to anything. Finally have some funds on my hands so want to get it running. But since I'm doing this figure I might as well add in another set of speakers up front on my wind shield frame. Improve my sound stage, right? (don't really know what that means lol). The current set up is a pair for 4x6's in the dash by the on the door side (stock), 6's in the overhead pods (aftermarket), and a poverty Pioneer head unit (50rms x 4 I believe)

I want to get an amp to power the sub (unknown brand, so keeping the wattage low-ish) and also to hook up a pair for 4's in this enclosure
Select Increments 53179S - Select Increments Sky-Pod with Speakers for 55-06 JeepĀ® CJ-5, CJ-7, CJ-8 Scrambler & Wrangler YJ, TJ, Unlimited - Quadratec

So I'll need a 4 channel amp and have to upgrade my head unit since it only has 1 pair of RCA outputs, right? Currently looking at Crutchfield's Sound Ordinance line.

Just looking to get that bottom end and have more boom and sound for the topdown and on the way to the gym

I would recommend you replace the dash speakers with some 5.25's components and amp them along with matching sound bar speakers. As for the sub is it the stock sub or a different console? If stock you can replace it and run it off the 5th Channel of a 5 channel amp.

You are the definition of a Troll...

OP:
I would not recommend the speakers up on the windshield... that will only hurt the soundstage, not help it. Take a look through my audio build thread for some ideas... I would recommend going with a set of Nalin MFG 5.25 adapter plates for the fronts, add an amp to adequately power the speakers and then think about upgrading the stereo for good sound quality.

Had the discussion with the local jeep crew and decided not to go with the sky pod. Like you two are saying I planned on going with the Nalin brackets. ( I have the stock "premium" 5 1/4's from my over head pods that I swapped out for the 6 1/2s on a shelf). Then just pick up a mono amp to drive the sub. Then if any cash comes my way bump up to some nicer speakers over head.
