Auxilary port

I just picked up an adapter that takes the CD Changer port on the radio and make an auxiliary port. The adapter would not power up. I did check voltage coming out of the changer on two of the wires, which I though should have voltage (because of the colors) and they did have power.

Would that make you think that I got a bad adapter? Or what are the chances that the CD Changer port on the radio could be bad?

Should be the same but idk...The best way to get a mp3 or ipod to play is to just swap out the radio that ither has a front aux or a ipod connection on the back..It would sound a whole lot better and also it would be easier..U can get a good radio from best buy for like $99

I would rather keep the factory radio. It's easy to install, I think I just got a bum adapter.

I wonder why the adaptor has to"power up" ? I've purchased CD Changer- AUX adaptors on 3 different vehicles, and all of them did not require power... check out RCAinput.com, they might have a non-powered, better solution...
