Beefing Up my audio.

OK so I'm trying to keep it simple, so tell me what you guys think!]

all four of my stock speakers are just tired and weak.

So hears what I'm thinking!

For the Dash: Quadratec Exclusive KWF-9702 - Kicker Factory Replacement Front Dash Speaker Kits for 97-06 Jeep® Wrangler TJ & Unlimited - Quadratec

For the Bar: Quadratec Exclusive KWR-9702 - Kicker Factory Replacement Overhead Sound Bar Speaker Kits for 97-06 Jeep® Wrangler TJ & Unlimited - Quadratec

and i really think these are badass: Select Increments 53179S - Select Increments Sky-Pod with Speakers for 55-06 Jeep® CJ-5, CJ-7, CJ-8 Scrambler & Wrangler YJ, TJ, Unlimited - Quadratec

so what do you think, its all simple replacements, i don't have to worry about Fits, and custom boxing or anything.

has anyone used these? are they rich? in the lows do they preform? My jeep doesn't have a sub, but honestly i don't want to waste my trunk on one.

I was thinking and idk whether ill need a new head unit or not, and if i should do audio before other things, my jeep will be on road 90% of the time, and the other 10% will be lite trails or my steep ass driveway lol.

but yeah just trying to figure out what to do! so many options with a jeep =}

those speakers are not worth the price. look around on crutchfield and find something you like that is a little over your budget and then see what kind of deal you can find on ebay. don't expect to get too many "lows" out of small speakers. take a look at the infinty kappa component speakers, they have great sound and you can find a great deal on ebay for them. the first thing you should do is upgrade the headunit in your dash, again look around in crutchfield and then go over to ebay. if you want to be able to hear the low notes with an upgraded system you should look into getting a sub.

When the speakers in my sound bar blew I replaced them with some pioneers from best buy. I like them and they were affordable, but I was just looking to replace my stock ones.

Thanks for the honesty, good that i didn't just go and buy some crap ass speakers and stuff.

as for the sub, id love one =) but being a youngin at 17, my father is just so against putting a sub in ='{ lol but his truck has 2 10's.

but i mean once he hear's how shitty it is now, 0 bass at all, i mean at all. and both sound bar speakers are basically gone. he might ease alittle.

Looking at subs, i came across this, and only reason everything is from quadratec is that its the only site that ive come across so far (:

This sub seems if would be a good fit, just because its removable in just a few seconds.

don't go with that sub. i wouldn't pay more than $20 for it. you can go with a 10" and amp and still have some room in the back for storage.

i have the infinity kappa perfect components in my soundbar, 3-way infinity kappa's in the front, a pioneer headunit, a 10" audiobahn immortal sub running off of a hifonix hercules amp.

a high end 10" sub will sound just as good if not better than 2 mid range 12's. in the end its cheaper to go with the high end 10" and a set of 12's. imo a single 12" sub is just a little overboard. why take up all that room when you can go with a smaller sub with more power.

I mounted a Boss bass600 8" amplified sub underneath the drivers seat. It barely fits in there, but it does.

if you want your system loud than you will also like it to be balanced, so that way the sub doesn't over power the speakers, or the speakers over powering the sub. the boss setup it not cheap. you can get a sub box and amp for that price that will give you more bass

In my TJ i mounted two Boston Acoustic speakers in the dash, for about 90 dollars, i bought the vdp hi fidelity 6 speaker soundbar (i was a little hesitant with not knowing the company but the sound is nice and clear) for 189 dollars and then i bought an 2007 or 2008 model of the kicker solobaric 10" for a hundered dollars along with a lanzar amp for 100 dollars. My system isnt overpowering and sounds good with just about any sort of music and it wasnt overly expensive...so thats my two cents

I mounted the boss 8" sub under the seat primarily to prevent theft. I didn't want a speaker box in the back catching attention. The top nor doors are off mine for the majority of the year. So I wanted it out of sight and out of the rain. I am still using the stock tape deck for that reason as well. But I took it apart and am using the cassete deck as my ipod player, by running the wire back through the unit. Stealth.

I think it sounds great. I changed out the two dash speakers, and am still running stock sound bar speakers. The bass gets a bit washed out at highway speeds with the top down, but that is expected.

And the sub is only $100 btw. I have pictures of the entire install if anyone is interested.

i took out my back seats and installed the bestop extendatrunk, that way i can keep everything locked up. and before i got the trunk i had the box bolted to the floor and the sub tethered in to the box.

I have the stock speakers in my dash with a JVC head unit and a VDP sound bar with 6 speakers, Tweeters, mids and powered subs. Today i installed a sub and amp in it as well. I bought a Pioneer Champion Series Pro 10" sub powered by a Clarion 850W amp. Thing kicks and its plenty well balanced. Before I had the trouble of too much treble and it sounded like it was screaming, but now with the bass, it's balanced well. Nothing over powers each other. Budget friendly and fits well.
