To tune your antenna, providing it tunes properly & doesn't have any problems, yes a built-in SWR meter will give as accurate of an indication when you've reached the lowest possible SWR as a separate or more expensive SWR meter will. The benefit to external or expensive SWR meters is they can provide an accurate SWR reading... like if it is 1.3:1 or 1.9:1.

Make DARNED SURE you install the antenna mount properly into the Tera mount, assembled in the right order with the white nylon insulating washer on top where it belongs, and it should be fine. Make DARNED SURE you also grind away the powder coating on the Tera mount on the bottom side of the bracket hole where the antenna mount passes through so the bottom half of the antenna mount that the coax cable connector screws onto has a good bare metal connection to the Tera mounting bracket. Also make sure the Tera bracket has a good bare metal connection to the tub so it will be properly grounded. Make sure its mounting screws touch bare metal on the Tera mount, grind the powder coating away from the mounting bolt holes, and make sure the screws are getting a good bare metal connection to the tub at their threads.

The above is critical. Without those bare metal connections, your antenna will not tune up properly. And again, pay extra-careful attention to how you assemble the antenna mount to the Tera mount, the order of parts is crucial... and make sure the antenna mount is properly centered in the Tera mounting bracket's hole.

Those are the last thing I would install. 1) FIrst, they won't really protect your tail lights... they aren't strong enough for anything but a mild tap against them. 2) They will interfere with the Tera mount's ability to get an adequate RF ground (more demanding than a simple ground) from the tub.

You can pick up an SWR meter at Pilot truck stops as well as on Amazon.

3' is not any multiple of the CB wavelength and is absolutely nothing but an old wive's tale. With the type of antenna & coax we use for our TJs, the best length of cable is the length it takes to get everything connected with a little extra for future changes.

Do the math, you'll see that no matter what math you use, 3' is not a length having to do with any wavelength-related thing in the CB band. That's as much of an old wive's tale as the 18' length is. Really.

Got everything I needed from Right Channel Radios including the Uniden pro520xl. Great little radio for the Wrangler. I mounted mine above the mirror, convenient and up out of the way.

I'd recommend the Cobra 29 LX radio. It's rated #1 on the review here 5 Good 40 Channel CB Radios 2014 . I like it because it saves the channels I use most so I don't have to keep finding them every time I want to go to a specific one.
