Blown Overhead Speaker...

Hi everyone!

I just got my 2004 Wrangler and one of the speakers in the overhead bar is blown out. What size do I need to get to replace it? Is there a brand you like that's on the cheaper side but won't blow out again in six months?

Thanks!!

The stock speaker is 5.25" but with slight trimming you can easily fit 6.5", some 6.5" speakers will fit without trimming. I really like my new Kicker speakers, they seem to be able to play loud without damage and still sound great.

I like the way Polk sound but I just installed a set of 6.5 marine certifieds in my sound bar and the one has broke twice. The capacitor's soldering came off from the terminal post the first time, then the wire itself broke after I re-soldered it. I don't think they are made strong enough for offroading. They just aren't designed for the jostling they take up there. just my experience.

my in-dash polks are fine.

for the rears I am now fabbing the soundbar to accept a set of old (but brand-new in box) cerwin-vega 6x9s. they are designed for upside down mounting.
