Buzzing stock sub

Hey everyone, I have a 2002 Sahara with the stock center console sub. Here lately it started buzzing so I have turned the bass completely off. Sound still comes through it just seems like it may be rubbing something but I don't believe it is shot. Any help is greatly appreciated!

well those shi**y stock subs rot out really easily from use, my 04 wrangler wore out is stockers about a year ago.
i guarantee you that if you pull the center console out and take a look at it there are going to be tears in the sub.

That's what i was thinking. How did you end up filling that hole? I've seen some 10" or 12" subs crammed in there but seems like it would put the sub at risk of puncture since the dome was exposed.

i tried to glue the edges back but that did not last too long haha. i ended up just taking out the fuse and left the blown sub in there to collect dust. just put a new sub under the rear seat.
i cannot imagine a 10" fitting inside the stock console either.

That is starting to sound like the right route to go. Any references or pictures? I found one site but they only showed a diagram for three subs and no amps. Soft top season is coming and that irritating buzz wont sound so hot when cruising around trying to listen to music. Haha.

that is a pic of under the seat with it folded up, the sub and amp being inside the seat.

Thanks! Yeah I have seen a few out there floating around on different sites. Trying to gather some research and maybe build something in the coming month or so.

go to amazon and look for 6.5 inch subs (that is the size) fairly cheap and you get good deals (i did and the sound is great and a way much better speaker than stock)
