My Firestik has worked just fine. No problems to date.

I am more than happy with my Wilson. It has survived a few wacks, recieves and transmits very well, and I have a VERY lot SWR, let alone for a Jeep. The cable and radio help with the SWR also, but the Antenna has a lot to do with it. I know people that run firesticks, and they work for the trail, but I REALLY like my Wilson and it was only like 5 bucks more than a Firestick.

Two Firestik's for ham radio (one home made) and one for CBk, never had a problem. Just personal preference really, several good brands. Tuning is the key.

Wilson makes very fine quality antennas but for me and my offroad needs, they're too "whippy". I prefer and have been using Firestik antennas for many years and for and for offroading, they're a very good brand of antenna. They're a bit stiffer being made from fiberglass so they don't whip around on the trail enough to bang into the tub, top, people, etc. Heck my Firestik's height is now down to 2' due to my TJ's lift height and my signal sounds just as strong and good to everyone I've asked as anyone else's does on the trail.
