Question CB antenna

Hey all , has anyone mounted a ball mount with spring and 102" whip on a wrangler ? If so , where did you put it ? I did this on my old 1974 CJ on the tailgate as it had a side spare mount and it worked great . I was just wondering if anyone has had any pro's or cons about that set up .
Thanks

I have seen one guy that has a ball mount on the rear of the passenger side.
The only drawback, IMHO, to using a antenna that tall is the whipping of the steel whip when on the trails.
I thought about going that way but went with the Cool Tec Ultra mount instead.
Hope this helps.

Yep, behind the passenger door. Not a SS whip but a Hustler antenna on there now, about 7'. It will bang around in the tree some.

People shouldn't be following you so close they get hit by a whip.

Most 4x4 clubs and organized 4x4 events long ago banned 102" antennas. They can sway viciously and nail bystanders on offroad trails. A shorter 2' to 4' works fine off road. I went from a 4' to 3' to a 2' probably 12-13 years ago and works fine to reach the back of the sometimes very large Jeep groups I occasionally lead around. You seldom see the old 102" whips anymore since the newer shorter antennas work so well.

I'm not in a club and don't participate in organized events. 102" works for me but thanks for your concern.

Just noticed you have 42,216 posts. Get out much? LOL

He was giving you his informed opinion and he is 100% correct, no need to get all pissy to him. Use whatever antenna you want, he was just providing information for others.
