I'm a big fan of the 510XL and 520XL radios and have run the 520XL in two different TJs. It works so well even after 15+ years of grime & dirt that I'd never consider anything else. The two minor differences between the 510 and 520 only being that the 520 has a separate RF Gain control and a PA function. The RF Gain is no big deal, it doesn't make the radio more sensitive, it just allows you to reduce its sensitivity which I have never need to do in 15 years of use. The PA function is only nice if you feel the need for a PA.

Thank you all. Sounds like the cheaper end will work just fine. Not to mention its certainly less of a theft magnet! I'll save my money for countless other "wants" for the jeep...... Like getting it dialed in and running properly
