Yes I had a license.... I remembered it for the longest time... until now! Darn!
I do remember my handle... it was "Silver Slow Poke" (early 70's) I had a dodge pickup silver of course... it was the worst vehicle I ever owned!
I got my license in Virginia and remember using it after I moved to Mass. then didn't hardly ever use CB again except on long road trips.
I used CB for a short time in Kentucky.... but by then most of the folks left CB and it was quite!
I had a bass station for a while here in kentucky... about 15 years ago but again.. not much activity.
Now I am gonna install it in my jeep and see how it works!

Wow, I can't believe I can remember it but it was KOX 0748 issued around '66. I built my first and second CBs from kits made by Heathkit. The first one used tubes and the second was a big deal, it was transistorized... but it needed a crystal for every channel you wanted to operate on. Heck, I think the crystals even had to be soldered onto the channel selector. My antenna was a "Super Magnum" strapped to the chimney on my parents house. They couldn't keep me off the roof putting up various antennas including a 15m beam I made out of a 2x4, bamboo, and TV twinlead. Those were the days.

Glad my main thing is ham radio now where I love to work the HF bands and just occasionally 2m when offroading.

KJB something, can't remember the number, can't find the paper. Late 60's
Comstat 19, tubes and crystals. They were $5 apiece, back then, expensive. Came with channel 14, added 9, 11, and 16 I think. Also a Turner base station mic. 1/4 wave ground plane up on the roof. Tried using the radio in the car. Vibrator power supply, it worked but the rig was too big.
