I saw in another thread a bar that ran across the rollbar and the cb was mounted to it. im thinking that might be the best since the 29 is the size of a small toaster oven. i looked in garage and found a stout aluminum bar from an old roof rack, a couple exhaust clamps, some nuts and bolts. ill play around with those bits and see what i come up with...if its anything good ill post photos.

So, here's what i came up with. Two clamps sandwiching the bar. I notched the bar for the bolt making nearly impossible for the bar to come out and double nutted it. The bar has also been drilled in several places so the cb can be mounted to the left or right of center. An added bonus is the strap for the top runs right under the cb with just a little tension keeping vibes down to a minimum. Hope anyone else with a fullsize cb finds this post useful.
