Cobra Radio's

Does anyone have any experience with the Cobra 75WX ST radio? I see North Ridge 4x4 has combo package consisting of that radio and a Fire Stix antenna. I kind of like the compact nature of this radio just don't know how it performs.

I have had three. Love it for what it is, a compact CB that works well on the trail.

There are certainly better CBs out there, but for my needs it has been a perfect setup in every vehicle I have had it in.

I had one in my Jeep briefly...I liked it. Ended up replacing it due to issues I was having...which ended up not being the radio after all. I didn't wanna swap radios yet again so I just sold it. It's definitely nice having such a clean install. I definitely would recommend purchasing an external speaker for it though. It's awful quiet with the top off/windows down/doors off. A good speaker is less than $20 though.

The Cobra 75WXST and the Midland 75-822 are the two most popular radios we sell for Jeep owners. The versatile fixed/portable mounting options are the most unique feature on these radios. We sell a complete CB radio kit.

Do you have a rough idea of the wattage and range of these radio's? Also are there models like these that have the sub channels?

The wattage is the same for all LEGAL CB radios at 4 watts. Typically you will see about a 3-5 mile range. There are no portable radios that I know of that have SSB. The Galaxy DX-949 or Cobra 148GTL are examples of SSB radios we carry. Or if you are looking for something fancy Connex 566SB
