I have a Chrysler infinity cassette deck in my 98 TJ which has a DIN connector for connection to a CD changer. I would like to connect my satellite radio to this port as I wont be using the CD changer feature - my guess is the DIN plug has an audio input in it somewhere for the would be CD changer to send its audio through.
Does anyone know what the pin outs are of this plug, or if there are aftermarket adapter harnesses available?
i dont belive your going to be able to find a sattalite tuner box that will plug into a stock radio i install car audio for a liveing and i know i have never been able to find a sattalite tunner box that will go with a factory radio if its aftermarket like kenwood or alipne or such then no problem but dfor the stock radio i belive you would problly have to go to the dealer and see if they have can add satalite to the car and they are gonna charge you a shit ton of money to do it only thing i can sugest pull out the radio go to your local car audio shop or best buy or circiut city ddand show them the conection plug and they should be able to tel you if you can find one or pull it out take a pic of the back of the radio and post it and ill see if i can tell you what you need to hook it up
Well I wouldn't need a special tuner interface - I have a Sirius Streamster Replay; I would just like to be able to feed the audio directly into the radio instead of going through two extra conversions on top of loosing some spectrum bandwith that comes with using an RF modulator. I basically need something that will adapt the DIN plug to an Aux in - I know they make em for many other vehicles such as volvo, toyota, and such, some of which require an extra pre-amp box - just wondering if there are any for Chrysler radios out there.
Well I know it doesn't have an aux in - but the DIN plug on the back leads me to believe there might be an easy way to add one. They're used to connect CD changers in the trunk so that the radio can control AND play the signal; if the CD player can send an analog signal into the HU for it to amplify through the speakers - why can't something else do the same thing with an adapter plug?
If there's absolutely no way - I might just go with an RF modulator but I'd like not to. I would install an aftermarket HU, but I like the stock look and durability - all the aftermarket stuff is way too flashy and blinds me at night, usually haven't lasted me as long as a stock unit, and just looks out of touch with the rest of the dash.
yeah well i would go with the modulator i install like 20 of them a day and everyone that i have put in the people always like it and once you turn off the radio satalite radio you disingage the mod so you shouldnt lose anything im not sure on the adapter i know we have a bunch of random adapters at my work that i like never use i work tomarrow and ill take a look and see if i have anything that will adapt a din cable plug to aux
