DIY Power Locks on JK...

I searched the forum a bit but couldn't find what I was looking for...

For anyone who's done an aftermarket power door locks kit on their JK, did you use the existing cables, or did you convert it to a rod-lock setup?

Also, it looks like the rear gate is going to be a hassle to get to...any tips?

I haven't done it yet, but I found this online. They just used an actuator and hooked it up to the cable locks. They had to trim out some of the door back plates

I've installed actuators on quite a few cars. The hardest part is mounting the actuator, but since it can go on the "outside" of the door on a newer wrangler, it shouldn't be to difficult.

I don't mean literally outside the door haha
On the wrangler, you just don't have to mount it on the inside of the door body
similar to this:
