Do you have a mic? It would be either in the mirror or by the drivers side visor. What radio do you have? Also if its the res, req, rhb, rbz or ren radio, look in the center console for a lited usb connector. If you don't see it, then theres no uconnect installed. You can find the mopar kit online pn 82212159 & usb / ipod cable pn 82212160. The install is quite simple if you work on your own vehicle. After the installation, you'll need to go to the dealer to have the vehicle flashed for uconnect. The dealer wi.l try to charge yoh an hr labor. Let them know that it takes a 1/2 hr and you'll pay 50 bucks.
If your radio is an rhr, then you can get a mic kit, install the mic and have the vehicle flashed for uconnect.
QUOTE=CarolLR;2284779]I found this forum searching for information on the Wrangler U-Connect system. When I purchased my vehicle a year and a half ago I tried syncing my phone with the radio/nav/hard drive system. When I pushed the button to use the U-Connect system I got a message that said U-Connect was not installed on my vehicle. I took my vehicle to the dealership last week to have U-Connect installed and they quoted me $780.00!
Some research on this forum turned up a thread that, though over a year old, contained information suggesting that U-Connect may already be installed on my vehicle but inactivated.
Does anyone have any current information on this? Can I simply purchase a microphone kit, install it myself, do a softward upgrade and use my U-Connect?
Any help is appreciated!
