Dumb question....

Will spray paint affect a CB antenna? The only reason I ask is I have a white one and would like to paint it black..... I could get a black one but I already have this one.

Not sure as far as performance goes but it seems like you'll want to use some kinda of flexible spray paint like krylon fusion possibly. May not be the case but it seems like any regular paint would crack and chip from the movement of the antenna.

I could be wrong, but it's just my theory.

Agree with the flexing bit. Just thought I'd check.

Performance wise, no issues.

I had a buddy back in high-school that did just that, painted a white antenna black. Granted this was pre-fusion but before long it looked more like a dalmatian than an antenna.

If you can find the size you need, heat shrink tubing also works. Just remember it shrinks in length too, so cut extra long.

Oh, sorry for the chuckle. I was searching for something similar and came across this. I don't have anything to add to the discussion.

Also note that firestick antennas are a fiberglass shaft with a sealed load(copper wire) covered in a plastic casing. Fiberglass antennas that have the load inside the fiberglass and no plastic casing may have different results.
