Flat Towing '11 Unlimited Wiring Hookup

Just got a '11 Unlimited and plan to flat tow behind motorhome. Have been towing an '01 Wrangler. I understand how to install the diodes for the turn signals and tail lights, but my question is has anyone come up with a method to put key in steering unlock and not have to disconnect negative battery cable? Resetting all radio/clock displays each time you reconnect the neg batt cable sounds like a pain to me. A guy at a towing installation dealer told me that if the neg cable is not disconnected it will drain your battery. Would welcome all thoughts and ideas on this subject. Thanks in advance.
