fog lamp question

I want to wire my fog lamps independent of the headlights. If I go from the battery to the rocker switch, and then to the lamps... do I need the relay?

No, but you should put an inline fuse in the power wire about 12-16 inches from the battery to be safe.

I would still use a relay. Unless the switch is rated for a good load (which it probably isn't), it will die sooner than you would expect. Relays are not hard to wire up, just a pain to work with is all.

thanks. I found a wiring diagram that included the relay, not used as a switching device, so it's wired in. My missing link however was a ground wire from the LED rocker switch. Works great now!
