Goodwill CD Radio... How to hook up?

Howdy, well I just picked up a Realistic trc-424 CB Radio from Goodwill at a typical Goodwill price. It came with the mic, and all the mounting hardware and whatnot. The two wires coming out of the back have been clipped, so I'm wondering is it simply run the brown wire to a ground and the Red to the battery? (With an inline fuse) or would you recommend running it through a fuse panel? Anyone have any experience with these CB Radios?

Thanks for the help everyone

Sorry, one other question. It accepts PL-259 for the antenna connect. Will a Firestick work with that?

Any antenna will work, you just need to buy a coax cable with a PL-259 connector on it to run from the antenna.

The end connecting to the antenna will depend on your mount, but usually you just need something like this:

RoadPro 3/8 Chrome Stud for CB & Amateur Radio Antennas : Amazon.com : Automotive

Thanks, I appreciate that. I was looking at this:

New CB Radio Firestik FL3 3ft CB Antenna 18ft RG8X Coax Bracket Stud | eBay

Everything sounds correct. Any reason to be hesitant on this kit? Thanks for putting up with my CB newb-ness

That looks like it should work and is priced pretty well.

The only thing I'd suggest, if drilling is an issue, is to look for a JK-specific antenna.

I ordered it, so I'll see what's required once it arrives. If there's too much drilling involved, I'll order a bracket from somewhere. Thanks!
