Great CB package deal!

I've mentioned this company before but thought it was time to plug them again. This is a great deal and comes with everything you need including several options and an SWR meter. I don't get anything for saying this - just want to pass on an option to those looking to get a CB setup.

Uniden Pro510XL Off-Road CB Package - $119.95

Thats a great option but if people are looking I would also add this to the list to consider. Complete kit plus a great no drilling mounting solution.

Complete CB Kit for Jeep TJ (97-06) [JOCB101] - $116.95 : Jeep Outfitter

Nice guys! Wish I'd know about this a month ago. Oh well, it's just money and I'm happy with my setup.

I never felt the need to purchase an SWR meter since quite a few members of my club own them plus I just went to a local HAM radio shop and they tuned it some some real expensive tool for free.

But on a side note here is a pic of the mount included in the kit I linked to. It is what I am using and love it.

It comes with a bracket so you can get creative and mount it wherever...but I did it under the dash on driver side. It looks like it is in the way but it isn't. Never bumped it at all even bouncing around off road.

I had a cheapy Cobra from Walmart for the past year. Worked fine on the trails but that was pretty much it. I traded mine in for a used Cobra 29 LTD ST (peaked and tuned, ~25 watts max) and with my well-tuned 4ft Firestik, I'm reaching like +/- 20 miles. Now for a trail setup the mini CB's work great, but for anybody wanting more they just don't seem to cut it.

For these package deals, I got this much better setup for around the same cash.

I got the 29 (used, peaked and tuned, warrantied) for $89 + 4ft Firestik for $20 + Coax $15.

For $135 bucks, I got a setup that has walked all over my former setup. It's all about preference though. Not bashing anything.
