Head unit and sub are working, speakers all around are not...

Yesterday i hit a bug bump in the road. all my speakers went out except for the sub. I took the head unit out, checked all the connections and the remote turn on was hanging loose. hooked it back and still not working... hmmm. as far as the remote turn on, there was not one wire disconnected.. PLEASE HELP, i dont know what the problem could be.. In a few minutes im going to go take all the speakers out and check the connections to them. Is it possible it could be from a short?

Are you amping the other speakers or just using head unit power?

Check the power and ground on your head unit, if they are all good...your head units amp is fried.

The remote wire has nothing to do with the amp that's built in the head unit. If it came loose and shorted to ground, it could have blown up some components in your radio.

I would say bad connection vs. fried headunit. Fried headunit would have more problems than he is having unless its a sony

Try disconnecting each set of speaker leads, one at a time from the radio harness while the radio is on. It might just be a sorted speaker wire, and that will cause the headunit to go into protection.
