head unit replacement boo boo

when i was attempting to replace my head unit i was dumb to the fact that they make wiring harnesses that can connect to my stock harness and cut the bastards off. woops!! haha. so now i'm left with wires hanging out of my dash and all of the wiring information thus far on the internet has not been 100 percent correct. so when i wired it up i can hear the cd player start up but theres no display on the cd player. just black. i already spent like 6 hours on it and cant figure it out. does anyone know where to find reliable wiring schematics or even possibly know how to hook one of these things up so it works. new head unit is a sony cdx-gt42ipw.
the wires i have are as follows:
pink w/ white stripe
pink
orange
black w/ yellow stripe
blue
brown w/ red stripe
brown w/ yellow stripe
blue w/ white stripe
green
purple
brown w/ blue stripe
blue w/ pink stripe

thank you for all the help

RE connect the wires and buy the harness... job done

A trick to find out what the speaker wires are is use a 9vlt battery and connect one wire to each post. if you hear buzzing. Those go together for the speaker the noise is coming out of.
