Help! Both Map lights on, won't turn off in my 2013

Hey Guys. Map lights in mirror came on tonight and won't go out.

I installed LED bulbs in the overhead dome light and they have worked fine for a week. Took them out just now to see if that was the problem, but the Map lights stayed on even with no bulbs in the Dome light.

Disconnect the negative ground on the battery twice and left it disconnected for 1/2 hour, and the map lights come right back on when I reconnect the battery.

Pushed the map light buttons on and off multiple times, but that does not fix it either.

I got 870 miles on my new 2013 so I'm surprised this is happening. Checked my hard copy 2013 manual, but there is zero listed in there for the MAP lights, and no reference to map lights in the index either. I'm stumped.

Any ideas?

Why is it necessary to put LEDs in the factory location with the problems they cause? I have seen numerous threads on changing out lightbulbs and can't figure out why. Is a Jeep just begging to be modified in every way? Asking a serious question, not trying to cause any problems

Because jeep interior lighting really does most interior lighting in many vehicles. LED lighting (for me anyway) is a lot more brighter, and not so yellowish.

But to answer the OP, try putting the original bulb back into the dome light. If you replaced it with an LED and the the LED was not designed for a CANBUS system than that is why you are having problems. You need to put a CANBUS compatible LED in the dome light...Krautoled is one place that you can get the correct led.

If you already do have the correct led, than it is possible the bulb went bad and is causing your problem.
It's not a Humma!!!!

Another idea, check and see if you have accidentally turned them to always on -the thing that adjusts the instruments brightness - has affect on interior lights as well. Good luck
