Help with Speaker Selection

I have the OEM 7 speaker system. Hate it. Sound is not clear. Very muffled. Therefore, I need help with selecting the best speakers for my 2004 Wrangler Sahara. I narrowed down the Head Unit to the Alpine and Clarion. I chose the Alpine. http://www.crutchfield.com/p_500CDE1...2.html?tp=5684
http://www.crutchfield.com/p_020CZ30...9.html?tp=5684

I donít really care about the bass that much. I like a little but not a lot. Hate rap. Donít like thumping. So I donít need a sub at this time. If I feel I need more bass, I will probably just do a powered sub later.

I am kind of old school. I like clear crisp sounds. Like to be able to hear the instruments. Love Rock and Country.

Anyway, trying to figure out what speakers to get.

RollBar

I plan on doing the 6.50Ē for the rollbar. Those I guess will be utilized for fill running off the HU.

Front
The front is what I am trying to figure out.

1) Do I utilize the Alpine HU and just run a good set of 5.25Ē or
2) Do I utilize my old JL AMP
JL Audio G2250 Amplifiers - Car Audio Amps & Amplifiers
and power a set of components?

So, which speakers (rollbar and front) do you think I should buy and how should I set it up? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

it seems everyone has had really good experiences with the infinity kappa 3 ways.I am sure someone else can chime in on this.Another thing you should look into is buying the adapter bracket so that you can put i think 5 1/4's(correct me if i am wrong) in the dash

honestly, not answering your question, but listen to them.. bc what i/others say is useless.. everyone's taste is different. we're not the one's that has to listen to them once installed, plus my taste in the sound maybe, and most likely, will be different than yours

go into a store w/ your own music and listen to them and compair what ever sounds best to you then get them..i hate it when ppl come into my shop w/ speakers they buy on-line then after they are installed they complain about it.. not my fault we just put in what you bought..it's your fault for not listening to them. would be same thing as buying a jeep online w/o test driving it, if you know what i mean

now as to what to use to power them..i always prefer a amp. lets you get to a louder volume w/ less distortion. that helps a ton when you have the top off and there is more road noise. i've had same speakers in my jeep for over 6y and they are still goin strong bc they are playing what the are made for. no bass..just mid's and highs..i have a sub for the low-end.

I appreciate the comments. However, where I live there are no audio shops to demo different speakers. I just have to rely on your comments and reviews.

most popular speakers i sell @ my shop are the Memphis PR line. good "bang for the buck". less than $100 for pair of 6-1/2. for some ppl they may have a little to much high end. if you don't like "bright tweeters" stay away from metal type tweeters.

now around here most infinity speakers are sold @ big box shops none of the high end shops sell them. doesn't mean they are bad speakers, i just haven't listened to them since late 90's.
