Question How Many Ohm Subwoofer for 2005 Wrangler Sport?

Hi all,

I'm looking to replace the blown subwoofer in my 2005 Jeep Wrangler Sport. The car is completely stock. I'm looking for something that will last, will wire together similar to the stock subwoofer, and fits in the center console. I've been hearing great things about Kicker's subwoofers on this forum, but I am confused at which subwoofer to order for my stock head unit and amp, 40CWRT671 or 40CWRT672?

Thanks!

I could respond, but suddenly someone else will know the answer and say that I am wrong. Then, they will start attacking me, and saying that I am give false information and ruining the forum. I'm so done, sorry.

You're wrong.... Just kidding.

I'd go with a 2 ohm. It will probably work better with your small factory amp.

From my limited expertise/knowledge, you should be able to purchase a replacement 2ohm sub (i think a 2005 is 8") and then buy a wiring adapter from Crutchfield for $7.99. It should then be a simple plug and play.

There are many other guys who know a heck of a lot more on this subject than i do, so perhaps they will chime in to confirm or deny what i say is true.

TBH I hate calling and talking with people, but the folks at crutchfield normally do a great job and you could call and ask them. I'd bet they can look it up and give a definitive answer faster than we could. And they could help you if you felt like deviating a little also. They are good about helping you upgrade stock the correct way.
